DescriptionAntony Elias Hananeia and Sarah Amboor were born and married in Tripoli, Syria. They had six children: Saydeh (Sadie), Nicholas, Kathereen (Kate), Selina, Helenee (Annie) and Rose (Rosie). The Hananeia parents and five surviving children came to New Zealand in the late 1800s and lived in Walker Street and South Dunedin.
Family descendants have local, national and international connections to many families in the Dunedin Lebanese community including: Amunie, Barbara, Bundo, Corban, Facoory, George, Howley, Idour, Ramsey, St John and Woodford.
