Details
DescriptionJohn Hyde Harris was one of the earliest landowners in the Henley district. He considered that the Taieri River looked similar to the Thames River and named the area Henley. In 1867 Hyde Harris was grazing cattle on the eastern hills and built his manager, David Lonie, a house overlooking the river and plain. The property was called "Bonnie Barr".
