Text: (leaf 4), Deuteronomy 7:16–10:6.
Decoration: Small initials in red or blue with contrasting penwork.
Provenance: From the Carthusian Abbey of Villeneuve-lès-Avignon (see N. R. Ker, Medieval Manuscripts in British Libraries, 1969, 1:xii n.2). The present manuscript when complete had the medieval ownership inscription ‘Ista biblia est domus cartusiensis in villa nova prope avinonem’ and the eighteenth-century stamp ‘Carthusiae Villenovae’. One of the Reed leaves was purchased from the Folio Society catalogue 9 (1962), no. 184.
