Jackson Caine

Jackson Caine performs among the talking books on the second floor of Dunedin City Library during the Nook and Cranny Music Festival 4.0 in 2019.

Jackson Caine is a songwriter, who says he is using his life experiences to "remove a chip off his shoulders" with each song he writes, as exemplified in his first single "Lonely Man" - a song he wrote after his 30-plus years of marriage ended and how he somehow thought he would find that special someone again. To him it was a bit of a pipe dream and still is. Jackson's music can be described as a blend of mellow folk with a strong influence of the songs from the 50's and 60's eras. He acknowledges that he has a long way to go to fulfill his apprenticeship but with the support of such Dunedin music icons as darryl baser and Paul S Allen, and a growing following, he knows if his songs are touching many others then his time has been well spent. Jackson is a regular performer and volunteer during New Zealand Music Month at Dunedin City Library.
