Ruth Arnison

Ruth Arnison was born in Oamaru and raised in the South Island. She travelled and worked in Europe for several years before settling in Windermere (UK) with her English husband Barry - she met him whilst working in a London YHA. In 1986 they came to Dunedin for a year, and 34 years and three children later are still here.

Ruth loves playing with words whether it be haiku or poetry. She's the editor of Poems in the Waiting Room, the instigator of Lilliput Libraries, and with her 'step sister' Sheryl, is responsible for the Poems on the Steps around Dunedin. Her current passion is supplying cafes and businesses and the Southern DHB with Pocket Poetry cards.
