The Boys' and Girls' Library in Stuart Street.
With the Dunedin Public Library in the Carnegie Building on Moray Place becoming desperately overcrowded, extensions were made and property was purchased in Stuart Street. The Boys and Girls library was moved to two former houses in 1948, and there it remained until the move to the new Library on the Civic Plaza in 1981.
