Protest against synthetic cannabis products

"Legal but lethal, we say no, legal highs all must go" was one message to local and central government, as concerned parents organised 23 protests nationwide to pressure then Prime Minister John Key to review the law concerning legal synthetic canabis. The protests included pickets outside legal high shops.

Dunedin's protest took place in the Octagon on Saturday 5th April 2014, with around 100 attending, including Dunedin City Council elected representatives Aaron Hawkins and Mike Lord. Speakers included synthetic cannabis addicts, concerned parents, Dunedin City Councillor David Benson Pope and Dunedin South Labour MP Clare Curran.
