Hon Michael Woodhouse, member of Parliament.
Michael is one of nine children, and spent his first 20 years growing up on Macandrew Road. His first job was in South Dunedin and he has many fond memories of the area. Even now he lives within three kilometres from where he was born.
One of the best things about South Dunedin was that “everyone knew everyone”. He reminds us that “the big attraction of this area to the settlers was South Dunedin flat land”. It is still this flat land that is of benefit to the whole city of Dunedin.
