DescriptionA recording of speakers at the Taieri Historical Society AGM.
Part 1: Mrs Vera Parsons speaks about the Henley Hotel, fire and flooding on the Taieri.
Part 2: Mary Ramsey speaks about life in Mosgiel in the 1920's-1930s, including early retailers, bakers, butchers and other grocers such as Wilson and White. Discussion of the flour mill, the band rotunda at the park, the Holy Cross farm, policing, the railway, the petrol garage, and the hotel parrot. Memories of when the circus came to Mosgiel, milk deliveries by cart, and having a house cow for milk. The lack of dentists and dental treatment. Travelling by bus and exploring Scurr's mine on Saddle Hill.
