Book bags and farewell to Allan Silvestro

With the Dunedin Pūtoi Rito Communities of Readers project winding down at the end of this year we sadly farewelled Project Coordinator Allan Silvestro at the end of October. Allan Silvestro was brought on in mid 2022 to help the project partners with book distribution, event coordination, relationship strengthening, promotion, and other activities.

During October Allan, helped distribute the project's remaining books into the community and also collected newly made bookbags for Concord Kindergarten.

The South Dunedin project, which started in 2019 is our longest running initiative and has distributed more than 20,000 books to young readers in the South Dunedin community. We are working with partners to determine how they might continue some of the mahi in the community and through their organisations. 

The final project report will be released early in 2024.
