Platypus Submarine 150th anniversary relaunch

The official relaunch of the Platypus Submarine was held outside the Middlemarch Museum. 

Speakers at the event included:

• Barry Williams - Chair of the Strath Taieri Community Board
• John Ingram
• Dr Matt Schmidt - Senior Heritage Advisor Kaitohu Matua Taonga Tuku Iho Southern South Island for Te Papa Atawhai Department of Conservation.
• Bill Acklin - Dunedin City Councillor

Following the speeches Pete Sparrow (great grandson of the builder Joseph Sparrow) cut the ribbon to officially relaunch the Platypus.
