Details
DescriptionUsed in the Australian wheat trade, the Penang leaves Dunedin after being repaired following a storm in 1938. It is pictured on the right.
The ship photos of the ‘Penang’ were taken by Sydney Benjamin Taylor, working as the ODT photographer around 1925. His daughter, Esme Jean Taylor now deceased, passed them on to Peter Jenkin, his grandson, who lives in Dunbars Road in Christchurch (age 74) who gives his permission to put them on Scattered Seeds.
