DescriptionRon Kingston spent more than 40 years of co-ordinating communication links for local Search and Rescue(SAR) operations.
He also set up the Canterbury Mountain Radio Service in 1971 and became the first Otago communications link in 1972, giving vital communications to people in the alpine environment
