New Community Scout Shed

NEW COMMUNITY/SCOUT SHED
In 2005, the old workshop shed built by the War Amputees was torn down and a new, modern shed was built as a joint project between the Taieri Mouth Amenities Society and Scouting New Zealand. The two groups raised funds totalling $25,000 to build the new shed. This is used to house the boats and equipment of the local Sea Scouts. The north end of the building is an office space that is used for Waitangi Day celebrations at the park, the Coastal Classic Mountain Bike Race each November and may be used by locals for their own celebrations. A barbeque is available for hire as well. The official ribbon cutting of the new shed was held on 6 February 2006 and was declared officially open by Mayor Juno Hayes of the Clutha District Council.

A new fence and stone entrance way to the park were completed in 2009 and paid from proceeds of the Coastal Classic Mountain Bike Race.
