Description
Roger Barrowclough initially was a member of the Otago University Tramping club, then the Otago Mountaineering Tramping club, but also a key member in the Federated Mountain Clubs, Mountain Safety Council, The Parks board, and a founding member of what we know today as Search and Rescue. Roger was also a keen photographer, and member of the local photographic society, there are many slides of alpine and outdoor trips documenting his early adventures and experiences in the New Zealand Wilderness, and this experience would become part of his extensive knowledge and experience with Search and Rescue as an important figure in the organisation's structure and history, and as a national advisor to Search and Rescue.
