Details
DescriptionSearch on the Breakaway, Mt Aspiring in 1970 involving a party of five from the University of Otago . It was a recovery of a second missing party from a fall whilst mountaineering. The first party's body had been recovered the day before by SAR member Donald McTaggart and DOC ranger Mervyn Bourke from Wanaka. Ivan was in a search party of 4: Ivan McLachlan , Brian Cleugh, Don Morrison and Forrester Davidson . They were dropped off into the Aspiring Hut and the Boner glacier area.
