Rock the Gasworks
Rock the Gasworks was a free community concert organised by Kay Mercer of Sweetmouse Entertainment. It was held at the Dunedin Gasworks Museum in South Dunedin on Sunday 21st July 2019.
With performances among the vintage machinery of the engine shed, the concert featured local bands Dee Street Blues, Both Sides of the Line and Before the Snooze, as well as solo singer-songwriters Paul S Allen, darryl baser (sic) and Jackson Caine.
Around 150 people attended the event, which was devised to provide free entertainment for the community, as well as to raise funds for Cat Rescue Dunedin, and to showcase the Dunedin Gasworks Museum. Other attractions included a blacksmithing demonstration, a juggling show by Jelly Foxfire, and a children's concert by Shelly J.
