Protest to oppose the outsourcing of food services at the Southern District Health Board

200 people protested against job losses, a drop in food quality, and the loss of Meals on Wheels volunteers on Saturday 2nd May 2015. Protest leaders included the NZ Nurses Organisation, Service and Food Workers Union (SFWU), Grey Power representatives and Meals on Wheels volunteers.

The protest was held to alert the community to the changes proposed hospital food supply contracts, and included a call to sign a petition to the Government to express dissatisfaction with the changes.

Speakers included Dunedin South MP Clare Curran and Dunedin North MP David Clark.
