New Zealand Scottish Regiment

On Saturday 16th April 2016, more than 100 war veterans and soldiers joined a parade accompanied by military tanks from Queens Gardens, through Princess Street, the Octagon and Stuart Street. 

The parade culminated in the handing over of the Regiment's colours to Toitū Otago Settlers' Museum, where they will now be housed.

Then Dunedin Mayor Dave Cull spoke at the laying up of the colours, mentioning that Dunedin pushed for the establishment of the Regiment in 1939, members of which had to prove their Scottish heritage in order to join.
