"Keep our Assets" Rally

New Zealand advocacy organisation, Grey Power, organised a nationwide campaign to raise awareness of, and demand a referendum regarding, asset sales by the then National Government, led by Prime Minister John Key. 

The Dunedin rally, attended by over 1000 people, was held on 23rd June 2012, and included a march led by political, trade union and service agency leaders, from the Dental School to the Octagon. Participants included representatives of the Combined Trade Unions, New Zealand Nurses Organisation, Labour, Green and NZ First political parties.

Speakers included Metiria Turei, Green MP for Dunedin; Clare Curran, MP for Dunedin South; Labour Finance Spokesman David Parker; and Dr David Clark, MP for Dunedin North.
