Otago Vintage Machinery Club

The Otago Vintage Machinery Club is based at the Taieri Historical Park in George King Memorial Drive, Outram.

The aim of the museum is to present as many as possible exhibits in a running state so that it is seen as a working/teaching museum. The most impressive display is the large 38 horsepower diesel Ruston engine. This engine dates back to 1929 when it was installed at the Kempthorne Prosser fertiliser works at Burnside. It has been extensively rebuilt and with its large 6-foot diameter flywheel running at 260 rpm is certainly a sight to behold. Visitors to the museum are able to inspect the almost fully restored 1908 Mirrless engine which like the Ruston is another extremely large engine.

The Museum has on display a large variety of vintage tractors, engines and farming equipment.
