Details
DescriptionLooking across the lower Tasman Glacier at the Ball Glacier, Old Ball Hut and the Caroline Face of Mt Cook. Amazing how high the white ice was still then as it has wasted down by at least another 300 metres now and is completely moraine covered. In the very early part of the 20th century you had to climb up from the Ball Hut site to get onto the ice.
